London architectural practice Mueller Kneer was established in 1997 by Architectural Association graduates Marianne Mueller and Olaf Kneer.
Their work has included a variety of projects from residential and commercial interiors to buildings for the arts and communities. Clients include the ICA, MADE (Midlands Architecture and the Designed Environment), the Guinness Trust, Everyman Cinema and Aberystwyth Arts Centre.
As members of the Design Review Panel they advise the London Borough of Newham on major projects.
Mueller Kneer is recognised as one of the UK’s leading young practices, and has been included in the AJ’s ’40 under 40’. Their work has been widely reviewed in, amongst others, ‘1000x European Architecture’, Frame’s ‘Night Fever’, Kieran Long’s ‘New London Interiors’ and Kaspar König’s ‘AC/DC’ series. Their work has been shown at the V&A in London, the Royal College of Art, URBIS in Manchester, the UIA in Turin, the RIBA and, most recently, as part of the AJ Argent Kings Cross Charette at the NLA (New London Architecture). Mueller was a visiting professor at the TU in Berlin, and is a senior lecturer at the University of East London; Kneer lectures at the UCL Bartlett.
Both currently teach at the AA in London.
The hm55 range is the practice’s first venture into furniture design for commercial production.
