Tristram Mylius

Biography

Born in Scotland in 1946, Tristram Mylius studied product and furniture design at Hornsey College of Art, London before working on product, architectural and interior projects for architect Theo Crosby at design consultancy Crosby Fletcher Forbes (later Pentagram). Founding Hitch Mylius in 1971, he has designed many of the company’s core product ranges including the hm11 series that has evolved into hm18 as well as hm34, hm46 and others.

In his role as ‘editor’, and with a discerning eye for proportion and detail, Mylius’s hands-on approach to product development has been instrumental in bringing the work of outside designers into the Hitch Mylius repertoire.
