Magnus Long’s hm106 Quiet Seating collection features exquisitely proportioned benches and sofas. Each defined by a looping angular under-frame that supports an upholstered seat cantilevered at both ends.
“The original idea for the cantilevered, linear Quiet bench came from watching how people mark out zones for themselves on benches with their bags or books. It’s an obvious observation, but it is interesting to see how people use large, flat seating spaces – especially from above, where you can look down and see different ‘territories’ marked out.” –Magnus Long
The collection has a Design Guild Mark awarded in 2016.
Following the success of hm106 Quiet Seating came the hm107 Quiet Surfaces collection. Created as a companion series, its matching cantilevered ends and looping underframes beautifully mirror the proportions of the original seating pieces.
Used together, they can form banquette and canteen seating and are equally suited to meeting rooms and office spaces.
The quiet design approach creates a discreet, calming presence within a space – an effect reinforced by the collection’s balanced symmetry.
