The Chester Hotel, Aberdeen

Project

Graham and Gillian Wood purchased what was formerly known as Simpson’s in spring 2012. The hotel, restaurant and bar closed in spring 2013 for a £5m refurbishment and extension project. International design consultants Graven Images have designed the public areas.

Following a complete refurbishment, the newly extended premises boast an exceptional restaurant, bar, private dining rooms, 54 bedrooms – including two suites, and a gym. A beauty room will open to residents and non-residents in April, and a function room for weddings and dinners for up to 300 people, plus conferences for up to 500 delegates.

Featured within the dining areas are Sir Kenneth Granges’ hm82g low back chairs, Simon Pengelly’s hm86e armchairs & hm86k high back chairs; all upholstered in black hide with Bute Ramshead, Bute Turnberry and Fanny Aronsen Harald fabric with special dark stained legs.
