Designer Focus – Tristram Mylius

Founding Hitch Mylius in 1971, Tristram has designed many of our core product ranges includinghm18, hm34and hm46.

Starting with a work bench and sewing machine in modest North London premises, building the company up over 45 years.

Tristram’s first design was the classic hm11, evolving over the years to a current favourite hm18 Origin.

Looking at the longevity and sustainability of each new design, Tristram’s philosophy is always to design simple, well-crafted upholstered furniture.

In his role as ‘editor’, and with a discerning eye for proportion and detail, Tristram’s hands-on approach to product development has been instrumental in bringing the work of outside designers into the Hitch Mylius repertoire.
